My parents gave my husband a shop and land for dowry.
Who should be in possession of those assets now ?

I just asked my husband for shop papers and he said they sold it. !!

Who has the land papers? Get those in your custody. Where is the land/shop?

Why does a USC citizen like you putting up with sooooo much BS is beyond my understanding.
You only keep posting. You don't follow any advice given here.

    Hello OP

In many states in USA whatever money earned and loans taken by both spouse are divided between both spouse. When you make your case you can claim higher portion of assets for yourself and your kids. If there is domestic violence or any other abuse by husband, court grant kids custody and assets to wife. Your husband cannot hide money or any assets. Court find all bank transactions, taxes everything from previous years.

I understand you have young kids to take care of and you are worried about finances. If you talk to lawyer they will explain how you will get alimony and child support. Don't be so scared about future. Don't live in toxic environment. ITs not good for your kids either.

Yes. No one Living in US would give dowry to someone in India and marry.
Usually the dowry property is kept in the daughter's name. Crazy
