DOR....a beautiful movie potraying two women!

Dear Ladies,

I dont know if anyone has seen this movie DOR....by NAGESH KUKUNOOR. A beautiful movie, so realistic and potrays the strength in women...it is about love, friendship and with the beautiful backdrop of the Rajasthan desert....shows the stark reality of the societal pressures one woman faces as against the other who has also believed in herself and is responsible for all her decisions.
If any of you can get hold of this one, dont let the opportunity slip by without seeing it!
Some great acting by new faces and fantastic direction. It is like reading a good book and not like watching a entertaining movie,....it belongs to the realistic cinema category!

Hi Sudha,

I watched this movie yesterday! Great movie depict the stories of 2 women's & their circumstances & how they overcome them. Good movie after a long time. This year few movies i liked, Khosla ka ghosla & Dor, So far i remember.

Dear Sudha,
I guess the movie is about a woman going to another woman whose husband was killed the first woman's husband, to get pardon? Right?
The same story had been made into a movie called Perumazhakkalam in Malayalam 2 years back. It got good reviews and there are vey melodious songs in it. Dileep, Vineeth, Meera Jasmine and Kavya Madhavan are the stars.
I do not get to see much movies, there are no good DVD libraries here. Just 10 days back we have got Tata Sky connection (dish antennae). Now we will get all the channels and so can watch good movies. (For your info, Chennaiites get only the free channels thro cable mostly, they have to install a set top box to view all the channels. So I was not able to watch any Hindi movies for some 2 years now.)
I watched Parineeta last week and I liked the movie very much. Vidya Balan is so beautiful and acts well too.

i too watched this special movie two weeks back. It was too good and too different an experience to watch it!! Ayesha Takia bowled everyone over with her looks - so young, innocent and serene!! A typical nagesh kukunoor venture!!! 3 cheers to him and his crew!!:clap

shall watch

Hi Sudha,

after reading your review, I feel like watching it.
I do like Nagesh K's movies. shall surely watch it.
I had a chance to watch Casino Royale, the latest bond movie.
It was nice to see the producers change the chocolaty image of bond.
In htis movie, our man is so violent, aggressive & less romantic, etc, etc, etc.
Eva Green looks good - nothing great about her.
But I would like to watch the movie again for the initial chases & the different locations, etc.
If you've seen the movie do tell me if you like the new bond, Daniel Craig.
He doesn't look great but overall portrayal is good -
