Does the second delivery have to be a C-section too?

Anybody who had a normal delivery after a first C section

Hello everybody,

I have this doubt in mind since long. Is it possible to have a normal delivery after a first C section. My DD is 5 yr old now and thinking of a second. but I am not prepared for a C sec:hide:

I had a C sec as the Cervix or Uterus opening was only 2 finger opening as against 5 finger opening

Placenta broke - how long can one wait after the placenta breaks,my doc waited only for 4 hours, thou heartbeat was normal

Is it cervix not opening be a permanent problem or Is it unlikely that it is repeated for each delivery

please share your inputs /Professional advice

Hello Praseeda,
VABC is absolutely possible and doctors are recommonding it too. Not sure in what condition your gynic went for C-section and it all depends on your and baby's health condition during labor. Once the waters broke, the cervix starts dialates, it may take long hours ( may be 12-15 hours) if the condition is normal.

So, consult your gynic for VBAC(Vaginal Birth After C-Section).

Dear , VBAC is absolutely possible as Priya_mommy said.There is this friend of mine who is currently working in my ex-company.She had C-section first and then had a normal delivery in Hamad hospital.Not sure where she had her forst delivery.Don't worry.Try your level best and leave the rest to god.All the best dear!

i am in auh now and moving to qatar next month...am due for my second baby in july...had the same questions abt hamad, as my first baby was c-section..u answered them...plus do u know if hamad encourages normal delivery even if the time gap after the first c-section is only 2 years

A friend of mine had a VBAC , the gap between the LOs was 2 years. It was at the same hospital that you mentioned.

What was the weight of your DD? Could it be you didn't dilate more as she was heavier. My DS was 4+ and hence I didn't dilate after 3 , they had to induce.

Careerlife , I have heard that Hamad encourages normal delivery and C-section is done only in unavoidable circumstances.And people say that Hamad hospital is best for delivery in Qatar.I hope you know that this is a Gov of Qatar hospital.

Thanks ilite...i am very much relieved now...my DD was breech..so had to hav c-section
