I went for my mammogram and was called by the nurse to come back for another test as they spotted a cyst. I asked them if it is symptoms of cancer and they told me not to worry so soon and come in person and later talk about results.. I am so stressed guys.. Does cyst in breast area mean starting symptoms to cancer?
A cyst does not automatically mean cancer. In any case only the radiologist or your own doctor will communicate any medical findings to you. The mammogram technicians are not allowed to say anything. cyst doesnt always has to be cancerous so please dont worry, they want to clarify it so asking for retesting.. everything is going to be alright. there are fluid filled sacks that looks like cyst... i know someone else who is going to go for retesting again for the same results...stay positive and results are going to be good too
My ovarian scan a year back indicated cysts and was worried. However got confirmation from Doc. that there is no need to worry and cysts do not mean it is cancerous! Similarly i feel there should be no cause for worry and fibroids/cysts are common in breasts and unless specific indications are there, you need not worry.
I had a large cyst in my ovary, and that needed to be surgically removed last year. They did the biopsy and I remember waiting impatiently for the histology report, which took nearly 2 weeks to come. But the cyst was benign and they said no further treatment needed. So, don't worry. Most cysts in our bodies are non-cancerous. Let's hope and pray for the same!
