    Hi
My kid is 9+ years old. Recently during his neurologist follow up, Dr did blood work for his vitamin D. I never did this blood for him before.

The results came out as 10. The neurologist called me and said it's very low for his age. They wanted me to start the OTC vitamin D and calcium to improve his vitamin d.
He takes multi vitamin everyday which has around 800 units of D but they wanted him to take 2000 units everyday along with 800 of calcium.
His daily vitamin doesn't contain that dosage of D. So I have to buy the correct OTC dosage for D. I tried searching in Walgreens and Costco, but couldn't find the correct dosage OTCs.
Does anyone have any suggestions for any brands for vitamin D OTC for kids? Did it help your kid to get good increase in the D in blood?

    Thanks @MalStrom.
I am giving only while milk and sometimes 2%. I checked it and it doesn't have much vitamin D source.
I will buy this brand. This has 2000ius which I wanted exactly.. thank you. I just want to add some calcium supplements to it.

My pediatrician started him on a multi vitamin 3 years ago and I am giving him since then. Tested his D recently and it's super low. I have to start a separate D vitamin now along with calcium.
If your kid gets enough nutrients from food, it's really good.

In three years daily taking vital D has not brought the level to desired level in the body, then something else is going astray.! Why one would continue swallow vita of any dosage while body doesn't seem to absorb it? It seems Cal is alone not enough to get vital D absorption in th the body. Magnesium deficiency could be one of the reasons for non absorption vit D by the body. Just my 2 cents.

He was charging just ₹100. No big queues and quick. He is a cardiologist A. In the next chamber another specialist also a cardiologist B fees ₹300 with long queue and waiting time.
A patient was visiting A every month for six months. He continued with same prescription month after month and same advice - cut totally salt. There was no significant change in reading of Systole and Diastole. It remained adverse.
I happened to visit this hospital where both A & B practising consultants.
I met this patient as she came out from chamber of A.
She briefed me about her blood pressure and visit to Doc A for over six months. She hand me the prescriptions and bp readings.
I casually suggested, “ given that there is no progress, why cant you consider consulting Doc B for whom patients are waiting in long queue?” She turned pensive and seen merit in my suggestion.
She then got appointment with Doc B.

After three four months later i happened to meet her not in 5hat hospital bu5 in a bank. She began with lot of cheer thanking me profusely for suggesting to “ change the doctor” . B had examined and prescribed different set of tabs and capsules and to go on moderation with salt. She said her Bp with in normal range as desired for her age and weight. She not only shed weight and got her BP normal but also a cheerful lot.

One must think and make his or her own study and analyse & understand besides advise from specialist. A blind following leads to frustration and depression to self and near and dear.
