    Hi frens,

my baby is almost 3 years old .. She is very naughty picky eater lots of tauntroms all the day very active sings n plays well..

last night DH told me he is suspect of something but not to worry we will consult pediatric .. I asked what's is ..? He said baby behavior makes him suspects about obsessive compulsive disorder .. I asked what is it ..? He said she is doing repetitive tasks ..

am at home mom spends my whole time with baby I saw these actions from her but never know it's something to address

    her action :

suppose getting down stairs we help her when she says no I will do if we help her after getting down she goes two steps back n get down ..

in box few toys r there she asks to keep it down if we kept box down n open n gave some toys ... she puts back those toys in box n pics it again herself

asks to open the fridge for an apple if we open n gave her Apple she keeps it back n pics Apple herself ..

i saw these action thought may be she is learning n wanted to do herself .. But DH said no u r wrong we need to consult doctor .. She should not repeat actions like that ..

i Googled about OCD.. My heart is broken .. It's something serious ..?

Am crying from last night could not see her like this ..

Ladies pls suggest me is this normal in toddlers or I need to consult pediatric immediately ..

Does anybody saw these behaviors in toddlers ..?

Pls help me how can I treat it .. Or I need to go to pediatric ..

I think it is too early to draw such conclusions and it is based on too little information.
Most children learn things by repetitions. She could just be going through a phase where children want to do things themselves, their way.....my daughter used to say"api api"meaning I will do it myself when she was about that age.

You can mention this to the doctor on your next general visit and see what the doc has to say.

Your daughter is normal. Have seen many kids doing it.
    your husband is over reacting.

I don't think the behavior you have described here is OCD. I think she is miss independent. At 3 she is trying to learn by herself. My kid does that too. Let her do it, built her confidence, appreciate it.

It is normal. Not OCD. OCD is doing the same thing repeatedly several times. For e.g.:- washing hands several times imagining it is dirty... or opening or closing the door some 'n' number of times. What your child is doing is perfectly normal. Children want to do things all by themselves. My Daughter used to do the same and still does it her way. Relax.
Btw, all human beings have a bit of OCD. Only when it gets severe, it is a disease.

nb:- Your DH seems to have an obsession about her actions. I guess he needs a consultation. :)

    OP,
Your daughter sounds very normal. Maybe a little advanced for her age even. Please rest assured about that.

I would be more worried about your hub and his unrealistic expectations. Going forward this may become an issue in parenting the child. The doc usually will give you a fact sheet listing the child's expected behaviors and milestones for each age. These are also available online. You may consult that for age 3 and age 4 and show your h that her behavior is v. v. normal. In future, you may have to educate yourself and him about what is considered normal in today's world.

Why dont you try encouraging her to do things herself and if you see her contended, it is possibly a learning to be independent stage...involve her in everything you do...they like to do real world stuff at this age.
