Dear IL'ites, Do you use the "Watch Forum" feature? Please take the poll and let us know. You can watch your forums of interest... ....and optionally get alerts for new threads and/or new posts in that forum.
I don't use the Watch Forum feature.. Like I hardly use any of the buttons on my IP, at IL I use very few features. : )
I dont use the watch forum feature. On logging in, i just check the new alerts if any and go to the latest posts and go thro' what interests me.
I do. It helps me keep on top of threads in the forum I moderate. I don’t use the feature for any other forum though.
Thank you joylokhi. Starting from Alerts and then using new replies is how most people browse the site I think. I don't think "Watch Forum" changes that daily routine. If you use "Watch Forum", it Alerts you to content that interests you. Can you try watching your forums of interest for a week and share what you think?
Thanks @Laks09. One thought. Did you know you can setup to receive alerts only for "New Threads" and not for "New Posts". Would that make the # of alerts you receive manageable to use this feature? Or is it still going to be too much?
