exactly. that is why some people's prayers are so effective, they channelize all their positive thoughts towards a person.

    Rakhii,

i kinda reasoned to myself saying he might have eaten something bad or put his fingers in his mouth etc or didnt sleep well etc... but then everytime one of my DH cousin sister visited... next day my son would have loose motions or he will get cranky.... till now this continues.... anybody else its not a problem... that particular cousin and it starts.... i dono what to do.... he has a small teeka on his forehead... i was told to keep till his first hair cut ceremony which will be held next year...

if its not dristi/nazar what do i call it....????

Sea salt is commonly used to get rid of negative energy and to allow a balanced energy to flow inside the home. sea salt is placed in certain areas of the home. Mix 5 – 6 tablespoons of sea salt in a bucket of water and mop the floors with the mixture or you can add a handful of rocksalt in your bath. in bath in hot water, it balances your fluid hydration too..

Even I dont want to believe but have a few experiences which just make me believe in it.

Once when DS was around 2.5mths he started crying hysterically around evening time. I was at my parents place that time & someone or the other would come to meet me & DS. So DS just was going on & on & we called his doc who said probably gas or ear pain....suggested to try few things & if no luck to get him for check up.

Mom suggested this warding off this evil eye with lump of rice & kohl & just when she took her hands off with the warding DS stopped crying. Absolutely stopped. & I was shell shocked.

One more recent example....MIL wanted to take DS to SILs place for night stay which I did not approve. That night he just wouldnt sleep & finally when he slept, he woke up around midnight & crying just like that. It went on for an hour & I remembered the warding off & did the same with lump of rice & he actually slept off after that.

So now whenever I feel he is cranky for no reason I do the warding off with either rice or salt. I still put a small black tika on his forehead-left side.

Oh & ofcourse to mention during my school days whenever there used to be any functions in the society, I would get home feeling sick, legs paining....My grandmom used to pull me in kitchen & ward off evil eye with salt & mustard seeds or red chillies. & surprisingly I remember to feel better.

@Rakhii, though my rational mind wouldn't want me to believe in dhrishti, experiences have proven me otherwise. One such recent example - I took DD out for a walk, met with a neighbour. He is a good person by nature. He casually remarked at DD "Oh, she has pretty eyes". After we came home, she got hit in the eyebrow area twice within a timeframe of 3 hours.

Many times, DD would just cry for no reason after we come back from our walk. I do the dhristi taking procedure (using mustard seeds) and immediately her crying would stop.
