Do we require Transcripts of Degree certificates for h4-h1b transfer???

    Hi All,
    One of the consultancies i contacted said that i should have official transcripts of my degree certificates ready.
    I am on H4 and i did my MCA in India.But i don't have any transcripts for my degree/PG

    I only know that transcripts are required if we are planning for higher studies in US.
    Do we also need them for h1 filing as well.?

    Anyone help me in understanding this.

    I used my transcripts when I applied for jobs, and also for H4 - H1B transfer. To be on safe side, also get your degrees evaluated and if you are getting it(H1B) done through immigration lawyer then they can help you with finding degree evaluation center in your area.

    Yes we need Degree Certificate copy, that is a must I thought. I am so confident about it, because our certifcates hang in our study room in a frame and each time we are going to India for stamping or apply new H1, then we take it out and take it with us for stamping. I guess it is required for filing. You can read other visa forums to be sure. may be things have changed now.

    I suppose Degree Certificate copy is different from official transcript of degree certficate.

    Please enlighten me on this are they both same?????

    Yes we do need the Transcripts for filing H1B along with the degree certificate.

    Seems like i pretty much mistook/confused on the concept of transcripts.
    I have the following documents with me

    1.Degree certificates original (both B.sc and PG).
    2.Each semester marks lists (with max marks,marks secured in each subject)
    3.Consolidated marks memos and provisional certificates(Stating my grade/class i.e Distinction/First Class/second Class etc)

    Anyone please help me understand if transcripts contain anything more than this information.Or what information does the transcript of an Indian degree show exactly?

    My apologies if i look dumb and bugging you all up.But please enlighten me on this.
