Do we get Gerber / Nestle formula in chennai?

Hi ILs,

Need an urgent info. I am travelling to India shortly with 5month son and he is on Gerber Good start formula now.

Is nestle good start formula available in Chennai? Anyone have any idea?

I am assuming Nestle good start is same as Gerber good start here, Is that right?

It is better to buy formula in US itself. The formula is available in Chennai but the price is high. If it is not available, you can ask the shopkeepers to source it for you.

Thank u ramya, I do plan on brining formula but my stay is quite long this time and I can only bring so much due to luggage restrictions, So was wondering if I can get same brand in Chennai.
Do u have any idea where in chennai I can get??
And do u have idea about the prices.
Appreciate ur help !

naidu hall, amma naana have gerber foods.. and i think childzone in maya plaza also has them.. though cost is high..

Shanthi's in Adyar also has formula.

Last I checked, Similac formula costed Rs.2500. It is the size that we get in Costco/BJ's. But if you are planning on a long stay, it is better to shift LO to local formula.

Hi..
Gerber foods are available at Born Babies ,Anna Nagar. However i dint check out whether formula is available..since my daughter is 1 year old and drinks regular cows milk..Regarding pricing , gerber multigrain meal pack costs around Rs 370 here..just to give you an idea.

of course ramya ..i too bought everything from there..but formula shift to farex here.i bought gerber oatmeal alone from Bangalore. Because when we go back ,if they get used to cerelac here ..then they refuse to eat gerber afterwards because of sweet taste in cerelac.

Thank u all a lot for inputs yaar,but am not interested in Gerber foods (solids), I am only looking for Gerber good start formula.

ramya, I do agree its better to shift to local formula, but thing is Gerber Good start formula is Milk based formula but made out of whey protein from milk than the casein. Rest I get here are milk based but made of casein. I am preferring this for my sons skin issues. This is why I was looking for Gerber (or also nestle) in India.

Anyone aware if I can get any local formula, that is milk based formula with Whey protein?
I am not still considering soy based formula.

@amywos I checked in Shanthi's yesterday. They do not have Gerber formula. But they can source it. The same case with Mom & Me store too.

BTW the price for Similac Advance formula - 2.13 lb is Rs. 1400.

Ramya, any idea if they have Enfamil as well? We are going to chennai for 5 weeks in Nov. I am planning on taking more than enough to last+diaper+wipes etc but just in case...you know, baggage misplace etc?
