do toddlers stop bottlefeeding on thier OWN INTEREST

    my son is 2.2 yrs old now from 5 months i am trying to wean him from bottle.But since he gets up early mornings time like 4/5 pm and hez very sleppy ,unable to wean him in the morning time.But nite i am giving him in a straw cup.
    was in india last 2 months BEFORE,during which time when i was forcing/pampering my kid to have in straw cup,my MIL was saying that in INDIA many kids drink in bottle untill they are 4 yrs or so .So no need to force my kid he will ONLY slowly stop drinking from bottle.
    i was not undertsanding how that works.
    how far is it true,do kids stop by their own ????

    Some kids do give it up when they develop interest in a cup/sippy etc. Some kids will not give it up on thier own. I took away my 2 year old's bottle couple of weeks back. He still asks for it and will not drink as much milk from the straw cup. I will not cave in and so I am hoping he will eventually give up asking for it as well.

    If you feel strongly then you can take it away. You are the parent and it is your decision.
