Dizziness during contractions

Hello all,

Thought some could help me with this..
I have started 37 weeks and since 2-3 days I have been having contractions, tats what I guess becoz they are very different from the baby movements. when the baby moves I can feel its hands and les position. This seems to be like all over the tummy and sometimes painful in the vaginal area.

However every time it happens I feel dizzy and last night, actually I woke up from sleep becoz of this, and I felt very dizzy. For sometime I just kept quiet, but since the dizziness increased I even thought I might faint. I had water and stayed in a reclining position for sometime.
I am now perfectly fine. Tomorrow anyways I have the checkup so I am not worried much.

But I just wanted to know is there any reason to this

Hi,
Don't worry about this, all these symptoms are normal.
Due to heaviness you might feel this. Many doctors would say that even pregnant ladies might trip and fall off because of heaviness.
Just relax as much as possible and gain all the energy for your labour.
All the best and let us know about ur labour and baby.

Hi Pavithra, Can't believe you're already in 37 weeks All the very best to you. I delivered my boy in 38 weeks (geee i'm not scaring you but looks like you're almost there). Are your parents arriving next week? Take enough rest and don't go out in this state unless absolutely necessary Latha

Updates on today's checkup

Thanks for that post. Even I dont believe I am almost there
Today I had the doctor checkup. oops, here are the details to bore you again

My hb levels are still on the downhill. She has increased the dosage to 3 tablets a day. I think I now know its not going to help anyways bonk

The doctor gave an internal examination, actually she wanted to check the hips, but I was wriggling in pain so she opted out. She said that the baby's head is very low and so no problem as such. Its like just ' now wait for the baby to arrive '

I feel the contractions intense at times, but being the first pregnancy, it can be as much as over 40 weeks also. So lets see what happens.

I have the pain in the lower vaginal area when I walk.

My parents are coming on 28th, so one full week to go. I just sleep during the afternoon and at night dont get sleep.
Back pain, tiredness blah blah...are now a part of me but I am just now all excited to see the baby.
If any specific slogams to be said during this time for a normal delivery, please let me know the links.

Hi Pavithra, I suppose then your dizziness is due to the low Hb level. Don't worry all will pass in few days/weeks :queen How often do you go for check-up? In Bangalore for my first deivery I went every 2 days. And everytime my doctor did vaginal examination Exactly 38 weeks and 4 days when I went for check-up she said I had already started dilating and the baby was very low. When she checked my tummy she said she could feel the contractions but me tough skin didn't feel anything. So she said you'll most likely start pains tonight else get admitted tomorrow itself so we can induce you. Thank God the pain started that night itself. After the check-up i remember i was so suddenly afraid I asked my brother to take me to a nice chat place and ate to heart's content (i actually thought anything will happen to me so why not indulge myself hee hee!). I think you're on the right track now. I don't remember saying any slokas (i'm not that kind of disciplined person one day i'll say shasti kavasam, other day listen to lalitha sahasranamam). But my mom had tied one rupee in a cloth and prayed to our kula deivam to take care of me Take care... week-end relax while your husband is there Latha

i delivered my second baby on dec 28 n can understand wat u r going thru.....well as u said if the baby head is low then u shudnt hav a problem at all....these r all indications for a normal delivery...do deep breathing as freqently as possible.....dun worry n things wud go smooth..be calm n chant the swami name n think abt ur baby...all the best

Latha, dont remind me of chat items. I really do miss them
I was a junk food freak while in Mumbai. Here the pani puri's packets are available which are extremely expensive 20 puris pack costs 8€. WE hoever have bought it 3 times and also 2 times I have made puris at home. But last time when I tried to make, it came out a disaster and so couldnt eat pani puris.
So that ways I miss mumbai life a lot

Here the doctor's checkup is totally only 3 times during the entire pregnancy period. If there are complications, then only additional checkups are scheduled. I would never enter the doctor's room if it was internal checkup every 2 days, OMG I cant imagine it.

From 36 weeks onwards its weekly checkup. I have the next appt on coming tuesday actually it shud have been on the next friday but the nurse didnt have a time so she first scheduled for the next monday i.e 28th but my husband was concered about the long days gap so she scheduled one more for tuesday.

It was good to hear your birth story, it gives some sort of feeling that all will be well

slokam for pregnant ladies to have easy delivery !

I am gathering ideas and trying to mentally prepare myself from all ur experiences..Hats off to u for courageously going through ur first pregnancy all by urself. :hatsoff .Hope ur parents will be there for u at the right time..In my case, i am a person who needs constant pampering and infact a lazy goose to manage everything by myself...bonk

BTW here is the slokam u asked for, actually i took it from our chitvish' spl slokas for specific purposes, though i havent recited it till now, infact its been a while that i listened to vishnu sahasranamam or devotionals...Hope this is the right time for u to start chanting it..

Hi maha,

Thanks a lot for the slogams. Everyone goes through it and once we cross a particular stage, it looks easier
Now-a-days the anticipation and a bit of fear, its a mixture of emotions.
Whenever I feel cotractions, I feel is it going to be today?

Thats why we rant and rant here else the husbands will be bored listening to all the things we say :queen
