Discontinuing thyroid meds

    Hi

    My daughter who is 19 had been taking thyronorm 25 mcg for the past 2-3 months. But now she stopped taking it abruptly and refuses to take it. will there be any side effects if she does that? is it ok if she starts taking it again now? Can someone help me?

    Hi,

    I would suggest to get the thyroid blood test done and meet your doctor with report. Doctor may stop the dose if thyroid level has become normal but may increase the dose if its gone up. Consulting your doctor will be best decision here.
