    Liposomal Vitamin C. One teaspoon a day during the typical cold-fever season. It is very important to give this to the children -- they are the ones who bring home the cold, from their daycare or primary schools.

    Google for how to prepare liposomal vitamin C.
    The basic principle is that vitamin C, a pretty good anti-oxidant, can be a preventative against the common cold. However, one has to eat a large amount of it, so that a small portion of it is "bio-available". The rest of it quickly passes through the kidneys and gone. In order to make the thoroughly water soluble vitamin C to be somewhat resistant to water solubility, and quick exit from the body, we use lipids (oils).

    Liposomal Vitamin C is prepared by whipping (using a Sumeet or similar machine) some vitamin C tablets (ascorbic acid is another name for V-C) with oil/water to make a find emulsion. That emulsion is usually stabilized (for storage in a bottle) with a small emulsifying additive.

    Here is a video... There are quite a number of others on the internet. All of them are based on the same principle; making vitamin-C an emulsion in an oil makes it release slowly, and therefore more bio-available, and not go through the kidney (urine) and be wasted.

    Note: Dont bother with ultrasonic machine; just the sumeet or any other blender of reasonably high wattage would do a good job. I use the jewelry cleaning ultrasonic machine. This US-cleaner is great for 22 carat jewelries that have a lot of nooks and crannies for dirt to get into.

    I live in Dubai, winter is not cold still I drink tea with a chunk of crushed dry ginger and it works, last few year I never fall sick or cold.

    Drink ginger water with honey before breakfast. Eat hot meals. turmeric and pepper milk before bedtime. Include yogurt daily and wear layers of thin cloths.
