    Please clarify one small doubt. Datta jayanti is celebrated on full moon day (pournami) right? But pournami is on 28th december in calender. Please can u clarify ?

    In some calendars pournima is falling on 27th and in some on 28th Dec 2012.

    I follow what is followed in Sri kshetra Pitapuram (Birth place of 1st Datta incarnation - Sri Padavallabha Swami) and Sri Kshetra Kuruvapuram.

    In these 2 places, Sri Datta Jayanthi is celebrated on thursday 27th Dec 2012. But you can follow as per your calendar. Nothing wrong in it.

    Datta Jayanti is observed to celebrate the birth of Guru Dattatreya, the Trimurti Avatar – the united and single incarnation of Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva. On the full moon day of Margashirsha I prayed to Guru Shri Dattatreya for the welfare of all our IL Sisters and their families. May Guru Dattatreya bless you and your families in abundance.

    I specially thought of our TTC Sisters and prayed to Guru Dattatreya that they all be blessed with little ones, filling their home with joy and happiness. May Guru Dattatreya shower His blessings on them and be with them always.

    Which temple is it? (anywhere in Chennai? :) )

    When is Datta Jayanti this year, does anyone know?

    ok, dear IL sisters,
    I just came across the information that Datta Jayanti is today! - i.e.16th Dec 2013 (Monday).

    Please recite the mantra "Sree Gurudeva Datta" as many times as you can today.
    You can do so while doing any work or travelling also.

    It will surely benefit everyone.
    I will put up a thread about the relevant information on this too.

    Though this is best to recite daily, I am sure the effect will be much more beneficial on Datta Jayanti, i.e. today!
