Dad's upcoming visit

Hi ladies,

My father is coming to visit us in a few weeks and will be staying with us(DH and I) for 3 months or so. I need ideas on how I can keep him entertained and happy

I work full time and so far I have decided to do the following:

- come home for lunch everyday and enjoy a meal with my dad (either at home or take him out)
- try to go to work early so I can head out early by like 4:30 5:00 pm - have tea with him and take him out - either to a movie, or the park, etc
- we can go on a family weekend vacation some place

Any other ideas? please help! thanks : ))

You have pretty good ideas as such
You can add red-box rentals or netflix to it. Also membership to the nearest library would be useful, am sure he would enjoy it.

Hi Rose,
You can try taking a day trip to a local museum. Perhaps going to temple... if you have any close friends, have a get together with them one weekend.
You may also try going to any historic sites...

You can get some Indian channels and netflix membership and order indian movies.
You can look some Indian neighbors who have same age guests and introduce them to your dad.
Tell you dad to bring some nice novels that he can read here.
Teach your dad internet and bookmark some online magazines for him.
Tell him how he can yahoo chat with family and he will be occupied in the morning.
Get Vonage connection which gives 25$ unlimited India calls every month and he can talk to people back home.
You can teach your dad to take bus and go to library and read magazines.

Is your Dad interested in trekking and camping...You can arrange gor ur DH's friends and everyone can have fun time together..
Spend as musch time as possible with him..Try taking some fridays off nad go on a long weekend trip with him...
I lost my Dad 4 years back but I would have done this for him if he was there..
God I miss him so much:-(

Not sure which city/town you live but if there are any nice trails around, you can give him a map (and a phone) so that he can explore the place by foot. The weather is beautiful these days, he will like that.
