    Can I join this thread?..I want to loose weight as I am facing too many health issues and anxious at times. THe problem is, I am not finding time for work out/exercise.. I plan to wake up at 5:45 and start walking for 45 mins...

    Just my two cents from an article I read:

    BODY TYPES & LOSING WEIGHT


    Every individual is unique. As we know that there are three basic body types namely Ectomorph, Mesomorph and Endomorph.


    *Ectomorphs* are long and lean, with little body fat, and little muscle. They have a hard time gaining weight.

    *Mesomorphs* are athletic, solid, and strong. They're not overweight and not underweight. They both gain and lose weight without too much effort.

    *Endomorphs* on the other hand, have lots of body fat, lots of muscle, and gain weight easily.

    It is the different metabolic rates which makes the above classification. Thyroid activity level is also responsible for the same.

    But all said & done and cliche aside it's a matter of time and commitment of the individual to discover what is working for him. One has to take expert's advice or acquire knowledge about food & exercises and simultaneously understand your own body as to what is most suitable for it for reducing weight and getting in shape. Hourglass always not pear or apple.

    Sir,
    Great information. Thanks for sharing. Even Ayurveda determines our body type as vata, pitta and kapha doshas. It says each of these doshic body types uses metabolic energy in a unique way. As you said, the way we understand our body helps us to balance our life physically and mentally.

    Thanks for comments.
    This shows our ancestors practising ayurveda were already aware in-depth of body types even before western scientists. That knowing body type determines holistic treatment in aurveda for various body ailments. It is not attacking symptoms but the site which is affected and the unctions in network of site nerves in the human body.
