    i am stumped looking at such marvels..awesomme..u give me the drive to pick up the embossing kit.
    i have few initial doubts. there is a stark difference in the first and the second caricature in terms tht the first 1 is very bright and the second one is dull. is it due to some effect or change in material?

    have u used bitumen tar to give the dark shading effects in the first caricature pic? please share with us how to use it. i would like to try it sometime.

    For your wonderful words of appreciation. I am really overwhelmed and grateful for your comments.

    Lets get started with some metal embossing. I will try to explain the process in as graphic a means as possible. I will also try to explain in clear simple language, but if any doubts persist feel free to clarify immediately.

    I presume that many of you here would have already in your possession, the wooden tools necessary for embossing aluminium sheets. For the benefit of those who are new to this craft, I am uploading a pic of the tools. Any craft or novelty store would have them. Ask for 'embossing tools'. Also please buy a minimum of 2 ft x 3ft of aluminium sheet available at the same store.

    Additionally, please have the following ready:
    1) Cello Tape
    2) Ball Point Pen ( 045 Reynold's Fine Carbure) - as shown in the pic.
    3) 1ft or bigger steel scale
    4) Thick cardboard sheet or a few layers of KG carboard ( about 3 layers)
    5) Blue Carbon sheets
    6) Nail polish remover ( i'm sure all of you will have it)
    7) Cotton
    8) Waste cloth


    I shall give some time for those of you who are interested to organise these items. Meanwhile I will try to post an outline drawing for the first project. Kindly let me know when you're all ready.

    i am speechless on seeing ur embossed works...............ya..it is toooooooooo good. I have done one piece. As i dont have a camera, i am unable to attach the picture.. one small doubt.. while making bookmarks do u fold the edges of the sheet so that it will not hurt the users. pl enlighten.... one more thing of appreciation... i closely followed all ur replies to the queries of I lites. u have so patiently and very clearly cleared the doubts. i am following ur instructions of embossing... pl continue.
