    Hi Sanravi,

I learnt knitting just recently from my mother. It is quite easy if you have the inclination to learn. If you have a library nearby, try borrowing some books like a Beginners guide. Try some basic stiches like the Knit and purl. You can buy needles/yarn from the closest craft store like Michaels or Joann or ACMoore and try them out

Let me know if you need more info.

I can do basic stitches. How do you make sweaters? I have never been successful in completing a project.

How hard is it to crochet? Any inputs?

    Hi Sanravi,

I have learnt knitting basics in NJ community college classes. I have finished
small projects like caps, scarf and baby booties. It gives a great satisfaction.
But I don`t know how to knit a sweater. If you have community college in your area, contact them and enquire about the knitting classes.
Interactive learning for the beginning stitches is useful than learning from
the books. For advanced levels knitting books are helpful.
Best of luck for your knitting!

    hi vidya

i can learn from books but the problem is i dont even know the tools required for knitting, i also love to knit caps and other items made from wool.
actually i know to make hair bands out of wools, that needs wool, elastic and krosha needle. but i dont know abt knitting sweaters and others, if u can provide any pictures that wud be of much help.
    thanks

    Knitting classes

    Hi Sanravi
    I am Suneeta from NewHampshire
    i recetley joined Indus ladies.com
i can suggest u one..actually In MICHALES (Arts &crafts store..)they will give classes for Knitting & some other works like painting, cake decorating
    15 $ per class.i took a class in Michales..
    Enquire about that in Michales..

    its really worth
they wil teach u only one type of stich in 1 class

after that u can practise the stiches with books ..that what we get in Walmart,Michales,ACMoore,Jo-Ann..etc.,
& u will get knitting DVDs & books in public library of ur area.
Library DVd will be very..very... useful like class.

    All the best :)
