    hi IL,
This thread revokes my love for flowers , and when i was in thanjavur(u can get uthiri flowers like jasmine ,picchi, jathi malli, that too at a cheaper rate throughout the year in thanjavur ,,but in pune u can get as veni with exactly 20 flowers for 5to 6Rs ...,from may to august only and in detroit ,strict nooo ) ,my mom used to do flower stringing, no day passed without flowers in my hair (nyabagam varuthe .:-D ..sing like that ...,i miss my mom here:cry: , even if shes with me here ,wats up the difference its going to bring withrespect to this topic ),inspite of her job demanding a tight schedule.

(what to do u yeah , if u live in a place where flowers in hair is something indicating lunatic work or out of world thing , then we should be matured enough to say ,that they are old fashion work, ...haha) .

banana thread is a must in many templeslike bangaru kamakshi temple in thanjavur . still vazhai naar is in demand there...
i wonder how in those times ,ladies had time for doing poothaithal ( doing flower arrangements throughout the hair plaits),different types of pinnal(styles in hair doing..i don't know the apt word in english ).....,now a days moms are very busy and kids are more than mom...:bangcomp: (consider here computer in simile is lazy and change in cultures...more than that the word 'no time ').

    regards,
    harini

    hai friends,

the latest ones here, may not have read this thread so trying to revive this here, the malli poo is in season and how many of you are making moggu jadai for your kids it would be wonderful if all can come out with some photographs of the little ones with flower decked hair, show them our culture and make them proud...sunkan
