    Interesting read..
Wondering if such laws exist in India too...
One of my relative ( In India ) who is in her fifties has taken her 80plus year old mother on many outings to the store, neighbours home (Navaratri /Deepavali Pooja get togethers of married ladies ), nearby temple etc..that too when Covid was at its peak..
Everyone's mindset is different i guess..

Some old people would want "......... even if it kills me", then the relative in her fifties is a sweet daughter to take the risk for her own life to take her 80 year old mother to wherever she wanted to go.
On the other hand, if the 80 year old mother is a pain-to-live-with, and has left all her property to the 50 year old child, and the child wanted to get to a peaceful life or get to the inheritance as soon as possible.... and took the old mother to many outings... that would not be kosher.

As Miss. Marple would say, the courts would look at the "motives" of the suspect.
