Covid 19 Post Vaccination Reaction India

    This young doctor Hariharini sadly passed away today following developing severe anaphylaxis to Inj. *Diclofenac* which was given to her by her husband at home for *myalgia (Muscle pain)* following Covid vaccination.

    She died at Meenakshi Mission Hospital, Madurai after a brief battle in ICU.

    She was doing MD Anaesthesia at Madurai Medical College and was married 4 months ago. Her husband is doing MS Gen Surg at Madurai Medical College.
    She belongs to the 2012 Batch from Thanjavur Medical College.

    Please note after taking covid vaccine most commonly pt complains of myalgia (Muscle pain).
    Paracetamol is to be given for such patients and not diclofenac .

    Diclofenac causes type 1 hypersensitivity reaction against vaccine leading to kounis syndrome which is very fatal
    Please keep this in mind Dr.Rajan.

    May her soul RIP...being postgraduate doctors and specialists, they should have thoroughly researched the drug interactions with Covid vaccine and not administered Diclofenac for muscle pain which is a known and most common side effect..paracetamol along with some days sick leave and rest would have been sufficient to recover..this unfortunate event wouldn’t have happene.
