Medhu Vada This is a true and tested version of making Medhu Vada. It comes out so fluffy and delicious and crispy, which is very important in vadas. Soak one cup of full urud dal for atleast 7-8 hours and then grind first green chillies and ginger with little water in the grinder and then add the dal. Grind till the dal turns soft and creamy. Add one teaspoon salt and pinch of hing while its still in the grinder. Add water little by little only. It should form into a lump easily. dampen your palm and shape a vada and dip your finger in water and make a hole and slide in hot oil. Try this and write back.

Hi all, Wow it is wonderful idea. I will try broccoli using like cauliflower. I don't like the taste of broccoli but I know it is very good for health. Now onwards I will cut it into small pieces and use it in rice, pulao, vegetables. So that me and my family eat healthy forever.
hai everyone.................. i am back now........... i want to share a tip for making medu vada..... some times medu vada would became hard, to avoid this a small alteration can be done. Just add 100-200grams of fresh cabbage to vada paste & then deep fried it, you would get soft vadas. it will be soft atleast for 6-8 hours. have a great day....
Re: Sprinkle the onion on top of dosa I used to buy cilantro and forget to use it. By the time I realize, it will be ready to discard. I tried various preservation methods and nothing seemed to work. I found a way. As soon as you buy cilantro, untie the rubberband from the cilantro and loosen it. Keep it outside for 5 mins and refrigerate it as usual in a plastic cover.
When you buy the cilantro remove the rubber band and wrap it in a bounty(paper towel)and put it inside a Zip-lock bag and store it in the fridge. It stays fresh for along time. After four or five days later(if the paper towel is wet) discard the paper towel and wrap it in a new paper towel. Try this. Geeyem
yes geetha, its true that cilantro stays fresh when wrapped in a paper towel. i also do it for green chillies and mint ......... they also stay fresh. :cheers
