confused ?

    Ramya - Rithik was born 7 weeks earlier.. Born exactly around 33weeks.. He was in NICu for 2weeks..

    Ped did not give any iron drops.. coming 28th is his 1st vaccination

    anitha do discuss with the ped. about iron supplementation. since rithik was born early, he may have a low store of iron in his body, which can be easily rectified with iron supplements. I give aadit polyvisol with iron which is available over the counter but the ped. can also recommend a gentler form of iron supplementation for a newborn.

    DD was also born around 33 weeks..My paed gave Orofer iron drops and am continuing through...Lets c what other moms say..

    coming 28th am going to take rihtik for his vaccination.. let me chk about this iron drops with ped..

    let me see what she says.. till now she didnt tell me anything about that.. i have gone to see her couple of times..

    how many times a day do u give these drops?

    Just be careful with Poly-V- Sol/Tri-V-Sol. Both are vitamin drops which also come with iron...But these drops may affect new borns tummy...

    I gave my LO Tri-V-Sol (0.5 ml) in his 2nd month and he did not do good at all..He was very fussy and cried one whole night...Couple of my friends also did the same and it did hurt their LO's tummy..

    I stopped giving it immediately and waited till he was 4 months old to start giving it again...This time he is able to tolerate..

    So ask your doctor about a gentle version of vitamin drops...I know every baby is different and yours might do good with the drops but just want to caution you...

    Wish lets not give any drops/medicines for babies for 6months :rotfl
    Let them be peaceful atleast..

    hi,
    my son was given orofer in his second month but it tasted yucky and he would spit it out most of the time.anyway he is 8 mths 4 weeks now and doc has prescribed MIM drops 1ml daily for a month.
