Re: light and short periods on clomid

    Hi Harumi,
Usually certain fertility drugs like clome/clomid should not be taken continuosly and for long...sometimes clomid also produced more than one follicle resulting in twin/more pregnancy if conceived...

but along with clome, did not the dr give some other supporting medicine ? was follicular study done by the dr ?

Re: light and short periods on clomid

    hi evryone:hiya

@ crossiants...Congrats!! feeling happy:) that u blessed with baby girl ...sure will go for second opinion..

@ Vasumathy...thanks for ur kind words.....u told that u also had brown discharge prior to periods .. but i just want to confirm whether it was during when u were taking clomid or not....

@ hemadurga... i have taken clomid continously for 5 months then doc gave me break for 1 cycle n did neceesary test(for fallopian tubes n dh tests etc)...test result was ok ...no blockage....n then from next cycle doc has given me clomid (for 5 days as earler) and also gave me some injection just before ovalution.... continous for 2 cycles but bad luck....so i m also confused should i consider this 7th cycle or 2nd cycle with clomid (as i have taken 1 month gap between 5th and 6th(or 1st)...

do let me explain cycles with clomid....
~if i had taken 1 month gap in clomid consumption n again started clomid after gap.....whether it will be continous consumtion or not...
i think i made myself clear....

    plzzzz advice

    cheers:)

    harumi,
since the scan was done and it looks fine and also you are regularly consulting the dr and given gap also, i think it is fine to take clome...

you have another option also, you may ask ur dr to give any other follicular medicine other than clome.. there are some more other than clome doing the same work as development of egg.:idea

    Hi Harumi,
Brown discharge was there even before taking clomid. It continued until i finish with clomid. Now its not there!

There is Letrozole which can be used as a replacement to Clomid(i suppose).

Re: light and short periods on clomid

    Hi Harumi,

I havent used clomid, may use it in the near future as i just had a missed abortion...Earlier when i had a discussion with my gynaec about using clomid, i remember her telling me to take clomid (i think 50mg,2 every nite)...She told me to do so for 3 cycles and if i dint conceive with that, she told i may need to have follicular study done on next cycle with clomid....And Climid cant be taken more than 6 cycles...

So my suggestion is ask the doctor if u need a detailed follicular study to check if u r forming good follicle...Also u can ask if Letroz is an option...In any case its not gud to continue the medication more than 6 mnths...Do clarify this clearly with ur doc...

clomid should not be taken more than 6 times in a row bec. it thins out the lining which can interfere with future pregnancy.

Re: light and short periods on clomid

    Hi Harumi,

Here is my story TTC for more than year, irregular period and no ovulation I figured out from BBT.
Went to specialist and he put me on clomid for 4 cycles, got period of 28 days and ovulated every cycle but no luck
    side-effect I experienced
    1) spiderwebs in front of eyes may be 3-4 times a month.
    2) abdominal pain once in a while.
    3) period always started in the afternoon (before clomid it would start late night) and would last for 5-6 days 1st brown, 2-4 heavy red,5-6 brown

after 4 cycles i took break of month, now doc put me on femara for 2 cycles no side effects only period is 30-32 days had one IUI with femara no luck

now taking one month break and will go on bravelle injections.

    Dear frens,

I need some help and advice in the matter of clomid injection. I am going to start today onwards to TTC. Am sure some of us have gone thru that. Please advice me on wat I should do, how to take care of myself, what kind of food? Do i have to take bed rest like IUI n IVF? And wat are other things I should be careful of? Thanks for all your valuable advice. I really wanna have baby soon, married for 4.5 years.

    Re: Clomid Injection

    Hi Shining stars,
Welcome to Indus Ladies & to this forum.
You can find our forum guidelines here....

Are you talking about Clomid tablet?
There will be some mood swing with these tablets. Be prepared for that.
Try to avoid stress. Avoid heat food items. Try to cool your body.

Relax & be happy. This may seem funny, but will do wonders if you are able to avoid your stress & being happy during the fertile period & 2WW!

    Baby dust to you!
