    Papyrus Paintings.......
Egyptian papyrus are papers made of a special plant first made by ancient Egyptians thousands of years ago. Then papers are made in different sizes and are painted to have colourful drawings of ancient Egyptian kings, queens, God, Goddess,….etc. Each paper is attached with an explanation for what the drawing stands for and some information about the characters involved.

    Tingatinga Paintings..........

Once there was a man called Edward S. Tingatinga. He was born in the Namochelia village in Tunduru district in the South Tanzania. During the 1960s he established an art form that became associated with Tanzania. Today, "Tingatinga" is the Tanzanian term for this form of art, known most intimately in Tanzania, Kenya, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Denmark, Japan, Switzerland etc. Over the years, knowledge about Tingatinga has spread to other parts of Africa and Europe, as well as to other English-speaking parts of the world.

Tinga Tinga is one of the many forms of Impressionism the beautiful and mysterious continent of Africa has given birth to. Unlike Western styles of Impressionism, Tinga Tinga Art gets its unique and vibrant style from the magnificent natural surroundings of Africa.
Artists have the freedom to use their brushes to express their thoughts in bright, eye-catching colors. A striking feature in most of these paintings is the way the artists capture the animals of the Eastern coast of Africa, in what appears to the a distorted yet a very interesting image of the original creature.

From a purely technical standpoint, Tingatinga art can be defined as painting on masonite using bicycle paint. The paintings can be as small as ceramic tiles, while the biggest paintings are no doubt hanging above thousands of family room sofas.
Bicycle paint is a good medium to work in when making clear, vibrant colored paintings that contain sharp contrasts. It is this medium that gives Tingatinga the color contrast that makes it so appealing. Since the paint does not dry very fast, it requires that the artist first paints the background, letting the paint dry before working on the foreground design. This technique of letting the background dry, as well as the thick consistency of bicycle paint, are what make Tingatinga paintings so easy to interpret, since they display contours and clearly separated color surfaces. This media also means that today Tingatinga designs cover a verity of media such as wooden trays, plates, cups, glasses, seats, spire tires and bicycle parts.
