Dear at our house when my mother was bed ridden for three years we had the home nurses. They will keep change and all were non veg while we are pure veg. We loved the girls so much and were treated them as our family member. But dear, how will we make non veg for her in our kitchen. We cant make as well as we cant allow her to do in our house. So we used to ask her to go out once in a week along with our servant who was a local to have non veg food. That was the maximum we could do.

We had a driver at hyderabad. Ours is a huge society and there were lots of drivers mingle with each other when they are not engaged. Our driver was good in driving . one day some argument came between them and our driver just went outside and brought some of his own fellows and started beating the others. It became a police case and my son and DH went into the police station several times to clear off the FIR. Then we decided not to keep any drivers. So deffinitely we have to consider both the aspects to employ somebody.

Dear Ganges,

Yes that was good that u did for the nurse, sending her out once a week.But since food we have to provide, and nonveg being not so expensive, i guess fish is pretty cheap what these keralites eat, give them seperate dishes and plates, but well the smell will be there allright i know.

But what u did was good.Regardsing driver, well , yr driver was something eh ! Rowdy fellow.:biglaughNow i am trying to keep a driver.

Even while staying in Australia, this couple, so gungho about Veg-Non-veg. That too, the labourer were having on their own. Such a narrow minded people!!!!!!!!!!!:bowdown

We are pure vegetarians, but my DH used to have sometime non-veg before marriage outside, and sometimes, when he go to places for official work, where it is very difficult to get veg dishes. as of now my kids are vegetarian, but when they grow up, i will give them choice to choose.

Yes so very narrow minded these people.If they stand to make money from a buyer, they will order nonveg for him or her, i know these kind of peo-ple, two faced.

Good u dont pester yr husband, let him have, better he has nonveg,. than girls, what say.HAHA

But I don't have to cook it for him and I have my own separate pots and pans- I even have my own separate freezer. My daughter eats non-veg and I have no problems with that. When we entertain friends we have to take them to a place where they will enjoy their food and I sit with them while they eat non-veg pretending to eat some rice and boiled vegetables. Some three years back he had kidney failure and since then he has been in and out of hospitals and he needs dialysis every third day. My dh offered him one of his kidneys because they both are of the same blood group but he refused that. In this country it's long wait for a transplant of any organ and we found out that in Pakistan it's easier and cheaper.
We suggested to him about this and he got very upset and angry. He shouted saying 'even if I have to die I will, but I will never accept a Muslim's kidney'. They have done blood transfusions for him several times in the hospital and he has never said anything against it. Who knows whose blood it was! It could have been a Muslim's blood for all we know.
Nothing wrong in having certain principles in life as long as it doesn't hurt or cause inconvenience to others.
Oh! I forgot to mention about ghosts. I have written about my personal experience here in IL under the thread 'What do you believe? Are ghosts real??' Hope you will read it...

So we two couples are in the same boat, wives veg, men non veg.:biglaughyes the adjustments that u are doing are great, give the guest what he or she wants.

Well what is wrong with a muslim kidney if it can save yr life eh ! people go to extremes these days.

Meanwhile, I humbly object the comment about Ms.Padmini about vegitarianism. Do you agree that all plants trees have life and silently living? If so how can we eat? Naturally we will starve to death. According to Bible almost everybody mentioned in the book were Non-Vegitarians, including Jesus. (ex: He fed 5000 people with Fish and Bread on his 'Sermon on the Mount')

It's an individual's choice once the maturity is there, till then it's the family, society that guide us.
Not alone food habbits in every aspect of life.

Imagine a child born in India from a religious hindu family practising vegeterianism, at a young age is lost.
The child is found by a Bangaladeshi religious muslim family & they bring up the child probably better than the original family.
Now the child eats non-veg, islam is the religion. The culture, habbits all are that of Bangaladeshi.

The biological parents now track the child. How would they react? Feel happy that the child is alive & try re-uniting or feel bad that the child has changed completely and wish they didn't find the child at all.

It's the grown up child's choice, that's how I would feel so.

Nobody can force their views on others. We will have to co-exist.

The case that u just described about the Hindu child being brought up by a muslim family, is too good.Yes these things can happen, then what ? There are good and bad people in Hindus and Muslimes, in Veg and nonveg too good and bad people.

Well Dreams one, man so true, i just dream and dont do anything.HAAHAHAHAHAAHAH

Well the Lady builidng her dream home may request the labourers to eat the lunch in one part of the open space than telling them not to have it at all.However one has to realise that it is her mindset and her way of living and adjusting which is going to make the home heaven or hell.

Yes, these nurses are doing all the good work only for roti, kapada , makhaan..........hope the people hiring them think of them as assistants and not as maids. It is the people who are hiring the nurses services and not the nurses begging for jobs themselves. hai na. So as you suggested we should definitely take their hobbies and interests into consideration and give them a bit of freedom too.Atleast we can allow them to go and eat outside the food they want once in a week.

Dear Parvati,

Well , yes she has to be more adjsuting.She allowed them to eat meat in a shed, but maybe some guys started to eat in the unfinished house too, which has created this rukus.

REgarding the driver, u want to send the good driver to the school to learn more.:rotfl

Well what if, parvati u were to see her at night when u are alone, how would u feel ?once a week is ok, to go out and eat, but whatif they want to eat everyday, and no other good nurse is available, then what ? why not let the girl have seperate dishes, and pans and let her make what she wants and eats eh !

And parvati, jokes are necessary in life, they add spice to our lives, and dont laugh too much,otherwise u will send me the doc's bill and sue me.HAHA

Now a days I think that Is there some one very very pure veg ? I doubt . In so many medicines the capsule gel comes from animal sources ofcourse it is in pure chemical form but yet.
So many cakes ,biscuits and what not. Tooth paste & so many beauti product?
I prefer to go to a veg resturent but If you go to a five star hotels all their buffet breakfast ,lunches & diners Dishes are kept side by side Though in five stars the color coding is ther but in others ?.
Nearby my home a hotel person told me that nobody keeps track of spoons & all. one hotel people nearby are mixing gravey of non veg in veg dishes to give a different tast'; A insides information.
I made promise with me never to go to that resturent but can one have all inside information?
