    hi all,

My mother used to clean the silver vessels with vibudhi only. take one teaspoonof vidudhi in one square pure white muslin cloth and wipe it everywhere.it works well. i came to know from some magazine that we can use boiled potato water for whitening silver vessels. i tried and seems good. using toothpaste is a new one to me. will try also.

    Hi,

It's not nice to boil idols.
Keep a new brush aside only to clean idols.
First wash the idols with water. When it's wet, apply colgate tooth powder and rub well with the brush. Leave it for 15 minutes & wash under running water. It will shine like new :)

    Cheers

Infact it gets cleaned in seconds....no need to leave it for 15 min also!!
And don't forget to say prayers & chant the name of God while cleaning them. Imagine you are giving bath to your baby :) do it with love!

    hi,

I do use sabena powder for cleaning the silver items and scrub with a tooth brush. but i find that scratches appear because of using sabena. Tooth paste is good.

    Hi ,
Take two tablespoon of baking soda, some foil paper and boil it in water now drop the silver articles and small silver idols let it stay for few minutes then wipe it with a cloth.
