Hi Friends, I need some tips from you regarding cleaning of pooja articles.:idea 1) How to clean silver articles like vilakku,kumkum chippu etc. How to make it look brighter and as new when it was in the shop. 2) How to clean brass,copper articles like bell,plates etc. Even if i use tamarind i'm not able to get a good result. Hi, Welcome to IL. To clean silver, copper and bras bitambari liquid and powder is availble. It gives a good shine. To clean silver itens use colgate tonth powder or paste. or After wipe it using vipudhi. To clean copper or brass, use salt or lemon along with tamarind. Try out. Cheers, Priya Lokesh
My thanks to Priya lokesh for an immediate reply.I ll try those methods. Is there any other way for cleaning brass articles because using tamarind and salt will require more strength for scrubbing it and also consume more time. Friends please give your suggestions. paru.
I have been doing this technique for a long time and its great for silver articles. take a aluminium vessel,boil water.( if u dont have a aluminium vessel,line any vessel with aluminium foil. add a fist full baking soda and a fistfull salt soak ur silver articles in it for 30 mins u dont have to scrub or anything ur silver gets sparkling clean Good luck
BeeAmma: I used hot water, dish water detergent, oxy clean & vinegar to soak the silver. At least for my small silver lamp which hadnt been cleaned in 3 yrs - it seemed to remove the grime easily. didnt ve to scrub.
