For the leaky gut, whom should I start with and what to ask for? Any scans or blood work to start with?
I have been taking high dose 50000iu supplements of D since 2017. No changes though.
Then Rheumatologist started me a medicine called calcitriol. It's an active form of D. I am taking high dose of D along with this calcitriol. Taking this combination since Jan 2022. No changes in values but he told me to keep taking it.
I am not sure if my body is not absorbing D. How do I start to check the gut? Any symptoms to look for?

You may check the links to learn more. Also, the same channel. In my case doctor prescribed D2 50000. But, it didn't improve much, to 30. Thats when I tried cod liver oil. It's natural and contains D3 and omega3. Omega 3 reduces inflamation. That helped me. So, I feel my body absorb it in D3 form . You can try that. I use mg oxide, over the counter version.

Blood or stool tests for zonulin can indicate the presence of leaky gut. In my case, its was stool test(
GI Effects | Genova Diagnostics). Read more about it, there are many youtube videos
You may consult functional medicine doctor to explore the root cause(Find A Practitioner | The Institute for Functional Medicine)
I am not sure what your health issue is. If its RA/inflamation, you may consider anti- inflamatory diet( example:.

Doctor may suggest immuno suppressants or anti inflamatory drugs. You should consider a multi vitamine. Also, mild excercises or yoga/ meditation.
Pl take your health seriously, educate yourself and explore.

Its not fun having pain. Where do you have pain. Is it RA, fibromyalgia, stomatch issue,?? Identfying your problem and its cause important to find a solution. If you suspect Lyme disease, request tests for it. Bloodtest can varify it.

    This video explain it nicely

Thank you for the video. I will check it out.
I have given prescription anti inflammatory drug by my rheumatologist for my high inflammation and pain. Taking Meloxicam for close to 2 years and no changes yet.

I have pain in the jaw (lower jaw near the ear) and side of the neck on one side. Have seen all the specialists and several MRI and CT scans. No definite diagnosis and cause found yet. Started in beginning of 2020. During one of the visits, my PCP checked my CRP and it was high. So she sent me to the rheumatologist and been seeing him since end of 2021. As my CRP is high since Dec 2021.

Rheumatologist did all types of blood work and everything was normal except CRP and Vitamin D.

I also have knee pain on the same side which was started 5 years ago. Knee pain reduced a bit ,but not back to normal. So rheumatologist suspecting if I might have fibromyalgia. But he said he can't say that for sure as there is no definite diagnosis test or blood work for that. He said he don't know the reason and just guessing it.

I have seen all type of specialists for this pain. Dentists, Endodontist, oral surgeon, neurologist, neurosurgeon, ENT, tmj specialist, tmj surgeon , physical therapist, orofacial specialist, rheumatologist.

Just frustrated with the continuous visits and now I am just focusing on bringing down this crp value. And increase D.
My pain is in same spot in the lower jaw under the ear lobe area since April 2020.
Same type and sane intense pain.

Sorry to hear this. Its very tough when we are in chronic pain. Hope you find a solution soon. Focus on overall health. Do excercise too.

Your pain is located in one spot. Neurological or other reasons? Looks like its not conclusive.
I had jawpain/ back of ear pain, may be due to inflamation/ sinus, not sure, but steam (face) bath multiple times and drinking ginger tea helped me. See if that give some relief . I do this whenever I get it and helps me to get pain free.

I remember your original post about your jaw ache. I can’t believe you are still going through it.
Have you thought about taking some time off and going to India and getting checked out there?
Vit D shots are available in India. The Dr can try that. They can also look at things with a fresh perspective. Get the print outs of all your records from your various drs here but don’t show it right away to the first dr you see. Give them the history and all of the drs you have seen and ask for an opinion.
So sorry you are going through this endless cycle of pain. It is extremely frustrating and quite debilitating. It must be affecting your quality of life a lot. I hope you find some answers and solutions soon.
