    i have no experience with sewing machines be it brother or singer. i don't want a sewing machine with a foot pedal. i want one which sews without the aid of foot pedal. also this one does faggoting. the only ones which i have seen which do not need a foot pedal are brother cs6000i, and brother innov-is 10, 30, 40 and 80. but those are higher end for me.

    hi chitralekha,

    u r a fresher in sewing. so, to me $400/- worth sewing machine is way too much. Whatever i have is around $180- 200 , not sure as i got it during thanksgiving deals.

    And i have a singer 4166 model . That itself is too much for a beginner. am not sure what faggoting is . u can go for singer / brother models which are around $100 . They have lesser inbuilt stitches and so the price difference.

    I live in Qatar. Here, we can find sewing machines in Carrefour, Lulu Center, and various small shops in the souqs. There is a Singer dealer here, and someone told me that there is also a Bernina dealer. Maybe you can look in those similar places in Saudi?

    Hi,

    Has any one user Novel sewing machine? I have recently bout Novel designer 22..it has 22 in built stiches, I heard Novel is good, but I am not sure if this model is good. Anyone has any idea...I haven't used this model yet..jst bout it yesterday
