    Maami,

I made idli with vadakari.. No words to describe it. My husband ate the vadakari without idlies!! so good it was! for diwali, I made condensed milk coconut burfi and it was too good with almost no preparation.

I also tried vada using FP. I shaped it following your tips and I got perfect shaped vadas. But the vadas were little hard than usual. What did I do wrong? I guess I didn't grind it properly. But I will excuse myself since this is my first attempt with FP. (apdi sollikka vendiyadhu dhaan)

    Thanks,
    Aswini

Dear Kanaka, nice to read your feedbacks!! A great compliment from your Dh - you are indeed lucky!!
Kanaka, sweet patham comes only by practice. If the sugar is high, 'sakkarai poothu varathu' is one identification.A drop put in water should form a firm ball on rolling. If it disintegrates it is not ready.
For less sugar, it has to become 'more tight'. If you try regularly, you will be able to identify more easily!
    All the best.
    Love,
    Chithra.

Dear aswini, I can understand vadakari becoming the main dish with none to bother about idlis!!
Vada dough perhps needed a tsp or two more of water. To shape it well & 'safe', you might have added a wee bit less water.
    Thanks & love,
    Chithra.

Dear PS, you select rices which are easy to make, but there is no compromise in taste.
I prepared a Milaku saadam, last week, very simple but very tasty!
    Will post it shortly.
    Thanks & love,
    Chithra.
