I used once. But not so useful for chapatis or rotis. It comes out very thick. Sometimes I use it to prepare outer layer for modaks. It comes out well.
I have one too. I had actually got my parents send one to me in US thinking it would make life in kitchen easier.Sadly, it doesn't press rotis well as stated above .I have tried pressing harder etc, but rotis stay small and thick. However, I used it to make pooris . They turned out well.
The tortilla press works well in doughs that do not spring back (i.e., no gluten to pull it back to a smaller diameter)...This is why it works well for modak dough, and corn-flour dough, but not dough made of wheat flour. Increasing the oil/ghee content of chappati dough will make it more flexible, easier to press. You could improve the diameter a leetul bit.
