    Hi...
I am sandhya from chennai.. new member of this forum..
We are constructing a new home..
I would like to get some reviews on the types of chandeliers..
Many shops are promoting the ones having LED light and with remote.. Is it better than the traditional ones? Will it have good life?

Please let me know your opinions on this..

    Hi Sandhya and Ooviya,

First of all congrats on your new home.

Regarding chandeliers,Chandeliers are once again in the spotlight as a decorating trend. Whether your taste runs to Strass or Swarovski crystal, classic wrought iron or Tiffany chandeliers, or modern mini-pendants in brushed steel and art glass.Choose the one that would go along with your interiors. For instance for an antique theme of interiors go for classic wrought iron chandeliers. For contemporary theme go for modern mini-pendants.
If you dining table is rectangular one you can go for a pendant chandlier.
Regarding the lights for chandeliers as mentioned by Sandhya LED are good since it features a lifetime of 50,000hrs at a very low energy consumption. This means low to zero maintenance and no heat from the light source. If you want to put it on a dimmer don't use CFL lamps.See to that each bulb is 40watt if you use a normal incandescent bulb and the total wattage should be between 200watt - 400watt.

Hope the above info was useful.keep in touch.

    Regards
    Rama

    Hi,

You can go for a round one or a linear one.Any of these would suit your interiors.Regarding the shops, there are many at Teynampet. You can buy from there.

    Cheers

Thanks a lot for your ideas..

WE saw the lights in Teynamapet and Parrys. The price is bit less in Parry's.. but I'm not sure on the quality of goods.. Is it a good option to buy from Parrys? Most of the shops are not giving warranty/guarantee.

    Hi,

I would suggest that you buy it at Teynampet where they would give you warranty.Because you have a lot of chinese stuff now-a-days and you will not know how long it may last.
