Well I think we Indian women owe a lot to people like Manish Malhotra and Satya Paul for bringing the saree back to life when it was dying a slow death. Around 10 years ago many Indian women hesitated to wear the saree to a public function because if you wear a saree you tended to look old.

Then came the saree blouse revolution and Mandira Bedi with her noodle straps introduced the sexy saree blouse to the Indian living room through the medium of cricket (one of he most loved forms of sport in India). That way the common people started trying out styles which till those times specifically belonged to the upper class.

So more ordinary people started wearing Saris not necessarily with a noodle strap but more adventuring styles as compared to the dumb desiigns before. This has boosted the confidence of women in India and it represents the coming of age in modern India. Its high time that we should stop continuing as puritans trying to cover up everything and trying to overdo the modest bahu role. Something like a nun's habit.

To summarise some people may like it and some may not. But its not a good idea to loath the idea and scornfully push it aside.

    regards

    Harini

I also go with Shanti and Varloo, though the blouse is designed like that the actress themselves want to showoff themselves and their "beauties" in a very bad way to protrait that they r still young (bedi and sridevi esp). in my hopes, even the sexiest blouse can be of minus glamour if we wear the saree in a correct way and c everyone r very choosy with the material and color of their saree tooo.....:crazy
