Wow Satchi your post was a treat to the eyes. As always you have written so well. If I want to write I wont be able to put as you have written about each and everyone. I also miss those old friends who are missing now . Thanks for mentioning my name too. I feel honoured to be amongst those great writers inlcuding you.
Viswa dear I fogot to mention that thanks for including my name along with my dear Anna and Kamla about whom I dont know what to say. They both are great writers, excellent leaders of Finest forum and here all of us wait to read their comments about the nomination and also to get feedback for our posts.
Forgot to mention (there! I knew I would do it :bang) friend @BHAVNAM6, whose hilarious posts were a source of constant entertainment. One more good writer missing here since a while now.
Thanks a lot to everyone who has mentioned my name here. This is one of my favourite forums. I congratulate IL for completing 10 years and wish the site ever increasing popularity and all the members a wonderful bonhomie for a long time to come.
Satchi Thanks for mentioning me in your post.Getting appreciation for giving fb.is really great ya.Ha Ha Ha
Periamma, what is the fun of writing if no one reads or responds. Responses give one the opportunity to listen to other perspectives and make for a lively discussion. :-D
Dear @Satchidananda (Swatzi for me) .... Thank you so much for mentioning my name among the stalwarts there.... If not for you and few others I wouldnt have pushed myself to write again. When I started with snippets few years back, you, @Srama, Megalife, mindian, Kamaji, @vjbunny, @mimur and few others made me feel so welcome and still make me feel at home inspite of my looooong hiatus. Your own writings have inspired me and I am happy to see some familiar names still going strong. I made friends for life and I am glad to be back here... I hope I can do justice to the faith you have in my "abilities" Thank you.
She first came into view in my radar screen on 19th October 2011. She was lost sight of on 8th July 2013. As long as she was on my radar, nothing else seemed to matter. She just kept me so enthralled with her Snippets. A picture of dignity, she has an enviable sense of humour. The warmth she exuded through her writings was unbelievable. Friends, I present to you Megalife! Just read her following Snippets and you will start loving her like I do! http://www.indusladies.com/forums/snippets-of-life-non-fiction/196901-endearing-oryza-sativa.html http://www.indusladies.com/forums/snippets-of-life-non-fiction/168717-mega-muse.html http://www.indusladies.com/forums/snippets-of-life-non-fiction/159398-the-flirting-roses.html http://www.indusladies.com/forums/snippets-of-life-non-fiction/153620-my-visit-men-s-wash.html Sri
An authentic hotchpotch can take you to a culinary journey of exotic flavors, delectably spiced and peppered, with a tinge of mild sweetness to savor; a piping hot stew can tease any bland palette. IL-(Good to read forum) is no less than hotchpotch of poetized morsels which lures you to literary strolls into the paradoxes of mystical imaginations and to deepest layers of heart and soul. To cherry-pick a magical ingredient that makes the tastiest hotchpotch is purely a culinary guru’s mettle. All I know is to dig..dig ..dig deep into the mug and lick..lick..lick until the spoon tastes metal again. I blissfully remain the best taster and not the best judge. That being said, there are a few that lingeres in my taste buds and simply refuses to go. To be honest, that actually coaxed me to play with my ladle, stirring my pots of imaginations. Knbg and Megalife were those two inspirational sous chefs. ))) Knbg – I’m a big time fan of her posts. She often takes you down to the memory lane reminiscing the sweet-sweet memories of line with a tinge of warm time worn sentiments raveling the readers hearts. It is an art to paint the melancholic times so beautifully that people like me tear up when writers of her caliber do it so effortlessly. http://www.indusladies.com/forums/snippets-of-life-non-fiction/211668-an-old-umbrella.html http://www.indusladies.com/forums/snippets-of-life-non-fiction/221558-sir-telegram.html Megalife – She is a mega muse girl who had her way with words. She can hold your hand and walk your through the woods and gullies of neighborhood or invite for a tete-tete over the coffee table through her fabulous literary essences. One of my most favorite writers and really miss her here. http://www.indusladies.com/forums/snippets-of-life-non-fiction/151076-the-old-lady-down-lane.html http://www.indusladies.com/forums/snippets-of-life-non-fiction/161783-over-a-cup-of-coffee.html Smritisinha – One of best buddy here and every post she writes make me to say “Exactly Smritu, you spoke my heart”. Both of us love sailing in the nostalgic boats to timeless memories of people and places around us. She is such beautiful writer, but doesn’t realize that all. Every time I cajole her, she gives a brief appearance to send few mails to friends around. You can peep into her profile, you can find wonderful snippet material in married life forum, why not even poems there. hehehe http://www.indusladies.com/forums/general-discussions/211161-a-tribute-my-best-man.html http://www.indusladies.com/forums/s.../200252-this-freaking-fast-costly-life-4.html http://www.indusladies.com/forums/snippets-of-life-non-fiction/178922-hit-by-nostalgia.html gayathrivijay12 – She took us by storm in her very first post writing about her love for her Achamma, making all of us look back and cherish the precious people in our family. Personally one of my favorite posts that reminds me of my dear Achamma. http://www.indusladies.com/forums/general-discussions/163033-dedicated-all-who-love-their.html Viswamitra – I wanted to save the best for the last. The mutual adoration we have for each other is an open secret. No big surprise at all. He says I’m a daughter to him, if not me who else will feel so proud of his rich contributions he makes to IL? To me, he is the best and every piece of his is a marvel. There is still something I’m not happy about his posts(I can take the liberty to say it). Why no similes in your posts Viswa Sir????. :biggrin2: I expect an answer OK @viswamitra
These are a few of my favorite snippets (in the tune of Sound of Music) in no particular order. Remanambiar - The Mistress Sujathaumakanth - Two minutes please Knot2share - Weed Ojaantrik - A Musical Comedy! Srama - Yoga vs spinning Cheeniya - Super dumb aliens and super smart earthlings Padmasrinivas - A thunderclap, a lightening bolt These are a few snippets that I enjoyed reading when I first came to IL in 2010. I don't see some of the above writers active in Snippets so wanted to mention their contributions in particular.
