    Carrot tomato puris

    [font=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]2 cups whole-wheat flour
    2 medium-sized ripe red tomatoes (pureed)
    2 medium-sized carrots (grated)
    3 tbsp oil + to deep fry
    Salt to taste
    1 tsp red chilli powder

    Extract juice of carrots and mix with tomato puree. Strain. Mix in three tablespoons oil, salt and red chilli powder into the flour. Knead into a medium stiff dough, using the carrot-tomato mixture.

    Divide into lemon-sized portions and roll out into small puris. Heat sufficient oil in a kadai and deep fry puris. Remove and drain onto an absorbent paper. Serve hot.
