I have also not worked out such type, but tried to figure out.. ???

Let someone who has answered right or Rosary Sister has to be back to explain.

 

The answer is calculated the way below :

4*4*4*4 - 4*4 = 240
3*3*3 - 3*3 = 18
5*5*5*5*5 - 5*5 = 3100

So the answer is 3100

i found it on net..
BLUE has 4 letters
so
4 power 4 -4 power 2 = 240
TEA has 3 letters
so
3 power 3 - 3 power 2= 18

Likewise, MATCH has 5 letters.
So
5 power 5 - 5 power 2= 3100

omsrisai explained the same....First i thought the answer depends on the alphabets position and so tried a lot..Then i searched in net and found the explanation..

I agree with your workings, but why should all be subtracted by the no power 2 ???

To be subtracted by the power of 2 - that's the pattern. Basically u wanted to find the pattern, that's it.

 

Gee... i think am a donkey sitting around a load of intelligent people. For this is how I gussed the answer to be 3000 -
BEST - # of letters is 4. Pattern is to multiply this with 6 = 24. Add one Zero and truncate the length to 3 (4-1=3)
TEA - # of letters is 3. Multiply this with 6 = 18. Add no zero as no truncation of length is required (3-1=2)
So,
MATCH - 5 letters, multiply by 6 = 30 and truncate by adding only 2 zeros!!

oh ...anyway u tried alot dear..
i didnt think this much..i just thought of position of alphabets and worked out but nothing was correct..then i simply googled and found it....when compared to me you are great..keep trying
