You are just 21, do you know the amount of responsibility that comes with a kid. You have spelt fine as "fyn" which shows how immature and college girlish type u still are ....
SO think 100 times before venturing in a longtime commitment.

Consult a lawyer for that. More than being legal it has lot to do in other aspects.

You said you are single and you are 21. Usually, many girls are still single these days at this age trying to get into careers. Have you thought about marrying later or remaining single all your life? And is there any specific reason for it? If you get married later then what happens to the adopted child. Have you given a thought how the guy you married will take it? Normally, any guy will not like this and it takes a lot for him to accept you with a child. You say you are independent....to what extent? Can you bear the responsibility of the child at least till he/she turns 18? Child rearing is a life long commitment not just physically but emotionally too. You are 21 and just out into this whole wide world. Take it practically. This is no movie and you are no super woman. I am not discouraging you but trying to tell you to see the real world. Let another 8-9 yrs go by and still if you think that you can do this then you may start your process. But firstly, settle down in life financially. You may see your 30s for it to happen but that is still OK. You can adopt in your 30s when you are more matured and have really really decided not to marry and raise the child on your own. I say 'not to marry' because I am assuming that no guy will agree to marrying you with already a child at hand and that too not from your previous marriage but your completely different mindset which is so independent that it is a little difficult for any Indian guy to take it. OK say you found your love to be entirely fine with it then lucky you have a bonus!
Bringing up kids is no doll house play...it is REAL!, it is EXHAUSTING!, it needs ENERGY and MATURITY and not the least it needs MONEY!! You are not bringing a puppy home, you are bringing a baby home so do not act out of desperation like a child who wants a puppy. Even puppies need lot of care and attention...multiply it with 100 and that is what human baby needs. Puppies walk as soon as they are born but human babies take more than a year to walk on an average!
Remember it is not a 9am - 5pm job! It is 24/7 job. Woman who are working or not working doesn't matter ...they are always thinking of their kids even at work or home. So your mind needs to be on the kid 24/7. And remember your family is with you today, your Parents may not be with you through out ...forgive me for being so straightforward but that is reality and I don't think that at 21 you are matured enough to think in those lines.

Good luck and admire your bold decision but take some more time..get to your 30s......please.....you will be thankful you did!!!

Hi , Adara is right. If you marry then what will happen to this poor girl. And by the way you are too young and Indian law won't allow you to adopt any kid/

    Hi,

Not sure of the non-legal elements that you certianly need to consider, but India does not allow Single Adoption, as much as I know.

    Cheers

I think you can already adopt a child for you are of legal age. But if I were you consult an adoption agency there in India.
