My baby's 1st two doses of immunization vaccines were painless (Pentaxim). The 3rd dose (14 weeks) is due now.

I have heard a lot on communities & parents views that painless is less effective in long run (and also probably its banned in India).

So I though of going with Painful (EasyFive TT)

My question is - is if fine and safe to go with painful vaccines if the starting 2 doses were painless.

    Please suggest.
    Thanks in advance

In US, we do not have painful painless categories..none that I know of.. So I would suggest to talk to ped about it.

The injection pain is from the type of medicine that is given that time. Some types are painful, some are not. Even for adults, for example, the DPT (diphtheria, polio, tetanus) is going to be painful when injected and then give you a sore arm. Others are a total non-event like the one for hepatitis.

It is true that painless vaccine is less effective against one particular disease alone that is Pertussis (Whooping cough). You can go for painful vaccine now. No problem.

By default the vaccines in US are of the painless type.
