Hi.... This is not a saree which Ramya is wearing...It is the traditonal kerala 'set mundu' which consists of 2 pieces..one is worn as the mundu and the other as a half saree...She has put the pallu fold on her lap..it is not the saree pleats!! Hope I am clear! Rgds Susheela
Hi Swati, I went to the Nallis website.It was nice to learn excatly how to drape a saree followed by steps.We do wear sarees but the exact steps helps us to wear a saree appropriately.Thanks for sharing. Preeti.
I think what Remya's dresser has done is something like this:- The first drape layer that comes around the body needs to be pinned to the lower left corner of the neckline and folded in without any creases. The rest of the pleats are laid out as usual and pinned against the back of the choli and pressed to avoid the inner layer coming off. A traditional set mundu can be worn in this manner provided it has enough width for the top strip called the melmundu.
