    :help
    This plant was abandoned by my neighbour due to lack of space in the flat they shifted now. I decided to bring it into my little world to join other friends here.

    But I do not know her name or how to take care of her. :hide:
    So experts here please help me identify this new arrival into my small garden and guide me how I should water, does it require good sunlight etc..
    My garden space gets very little sunlight around 2-3hrs a day.

    In the 1st snap, I cleared the dried outer layers as they were not giving the plant a healthier look. Hope I did the right thing !!

    Then, it looked like this........Have put it in a wider pot now with some fresh soil.

    I dont know the name, we have something similar, just water it and if its like ours, it only needs watering once a week, I keep it indoors. Note, once the leaves are cut off at the tip, they do not grow back.

    It looks like aloe vera to me; picture is not very clear; if you pinch the leaf a little you can get smell and also the aloe will ooze out a little;
    these plants do not need much water; will grow fine (I think :)

    It isn't aloe; the leaves are too thin. Aloe is very thick, brighter green, and has dull white spikes on the edges of the leaves.

    It looks like a pineapple top, almost. We have some in our garden that look like that. Or some kind of palmetto plant?

    On second thought, it looks like some kind of grassy bush. Do you know if it's a native plant to your area? That might narrow it down some.

    I started out with Iris but then realized that the leaves are really not that flat - so my second best guess is 'snake plant' It might be easier if the plant flowers :)

    Aloe vera - at least some of its variants. Take care of it!

    I am thinking it might a variety of phormium or daylily (hemerocallis). If it has a bulb below it is probably a lily.

    Its definitely not aloe. It looks like an ornamental filler in a garden; almost like certain kind of grass.

    Dear Anandchitra
    I do not know if it is a variant of aloe, but I have another aloe plant which oozes out as you say. But as you say, they do not seem to require much water. Thanks a lot for caring to guide me.....
