Calling all mothers with babies below 1 year....

I gave Riya some mashed up mango pulp, and she had a love it/hate it reaction - after a couple mouthfuls, she started feeding it to our dog, :-D so I got the message and fed her sweet potatoes instead.

DH and I had one after dinner and it was sweet. Oh, and the sticker said "Product of Mexico". So I don't know what variety of mango it was, but it wasn't as good as our indian ones, and I think Mexican mangoes are more fibrous.

Shyamii....I used to BF Aadhu to sleep until 5/6 mnths and then he stopped going to sleep after feeding. I then switched to a cloth cradle to get him to sleep in the day and pat him to sleep with a song at night. So for me atleast I didnt break the habit - my son did! He still needs to BF to sleep when he wakes up at night sometimes. For night atleast i would suggest altering your routine so that the feed comes before the story/bath. Then you can try to get her to sleep by shushing/rocking/patting/singing etc. For daytime naps you will find that in a mnth or so feeding to sleep wont work anyway. Altering feeding schedules may be one way to break the habit right now. Of course its debatable whether you need to break the habit at all as the kids will break it off themselves at some point.

Hows your vacation going on?

We tried to change the routine but after the bath she wanted to feed again and when we tried to pat her to sleep, she became very active and started to play.. I ended up sleeping only by 12.00 pm.. then she woke up again at 3.00 am.. May be I should give her time as you say..may be she will decide on her own.. I was only worried that she wouldnt know to sleep independently.

Hi all Ilites,
I wanted to know whether Complan Natural/original flavour can be started for 7 month old baby?( daily once?)
Also can i add a piece of biscuit to his formula feed daily once or for all the feeds?
is parle G or Tiger or marie gold recommended?

Thanks Raj. Its good to be back and I have quite a bit of catching up to do... We had a great time in Kodaikanal. It was cool , quite chilly at night, very pleasant in the daytime and no rain. We mostly spent our time at the resort - I finished one whole book! Aadhu had lots of people to keep him entertained and DH was so good abt taking care of him. There was a kitchenette so no problem with food - in fact the kid ate like there was no tomorrow! We did a walk (5 kms) around the lake one day - everyone stopped to smile and talk to Aadhu it was so cute. I was a little anxious in the beginning but everything worked out in the end and I had the holiday I've been craving for....The best part was that I came home and weighed myself today and found I've lost 1.5 kgs (thats 3 lbs).....yay!!!! What a great way to lose weight!
