Hi all, I am not sure if a thread already exists for NRIs investing in Chennai. I thought I ll start one in-case this is first. The moderator can remove and redirect me if there is something already. For now, I am seeking information on Registration. Have you as an NRI registered property on both yourself and your husband or as a non working wife it's on your husband's name alone, for your property in Chennai ? What are the tax repurcussions on this ? How have you availed the tax benefits in US on the EMI for your property in Chennai/ India ?
