Well you could try King fish and salmon for fish curry, tilapia will be good for fish fry. king fish is also equally good for fry.

Some say cat fish is also good for fish curry, but i haven't tried that yet :hide:

    Hi Vahrija'
King fish is also known as King Mackerel.. here we call it king fish only...hope this helps you in finding it...Salmon is a really oily fish, I don't know how it would taste in a curry.. you can also use catfish..it has a good taste too..

Most people use salmon as well for curry and fry - some how my tastebuds are bit reluctant to accept them

Oh Boy! am craving to eat some good meen curry now:)

In supermarkets like Shoprite, A &P - You can check in the frozen as well as fresh fish section
If you wanna eat fresh fish(like the way we get in india) ,find out whether there are any chinese fish market in your area and go for that , they'll usually clean it upon request.I have seen frozen fish in indian grocery stores and pakistani halal stores as well.
