Buying Diamond Ring In Us

Hi Ladies

Could you please advise me where can I buy a decent diamond ring embedded in 14k white gold in the US .
I am looking at Costco, Macys, Zales, Shane, Tiffany between the range of $800- $1300 but its very confusing to decide as I don't know anything about the cut, clarity, quality etc.

Lot of people have opinion that Shane , Zales diamonds are better than Macys etc.

I am sure many of you would have bounght a ring for yourself. Would you be kind enough to share your views with me

Tiffany is good but you are paying a very heavy markup for their name. Costco is decent. I don't wear diamonds but friends have bought stones on Bluenile.com.

Macy's diamonds are good, got them tested by a reliable person here.
Go for slightly bigger diamonds( the size of a pepper corn/ tur dal) instead of tiny stones, the purity was better in the bigger ones than the tiny ones. Happy shopping!

My hubby proposed me with a ring he bought on a whim a half an hour before we got engaged. He got it at a pawn shop pawnbat.ca . I've got a pawn shop ring and love it.
