Buying a home

Hi Ladies,
I have lived in Dallas, TX for the past 4 yrs and my husband got a job in SF. we are planning to buy a house by end of yr 2014 and was hoping if i could get some advise. Here in dallas there is a huge indian community in a neighbourhood called Irving with restaurants, movie theaters and lots of indians buying homes. i prefer the same setting and so im looking at east bay or south bay area. i heared there are a lot of indians in fremont and san jose.
if anybody has bought a house in fremont or san jose i would really appreciate if you could share your experiences( price range, close of a good school and a park and maybe a complex for everyday stuff). i was looking at Zillow and could not find any good single family homes.though i dont want to buy a house now i want to start researching and learn the procedure of buying a house as this is our first time.
