@Laks09 post High.School woes made me post this.

Compared to what today's generation know about bringing up children I am nothing but I can learn from them and tell my children about bringing up.

I got my first child at the age of 33yrs and within three and a half years 3children

I feel whatever we teach the children and how we behave with them up to their age of 5 yrs plays a big part in their life.

My husband was very strict in bringing them up and we were not financially well off that time, though I was also working. Seeing others daughters wearing beautiful dresses I used to satisfy myself buying from roadside and only during birthday and Diwali buy from a shop and that too not costly.

Being a working women and holding a responsible post in accounts it was difficult managing house and office, glad my husband helped a lot in housework. For my daughter's I had to struggle , going late to office on exam days. My son had the grasping power so from 1st std to 4th std he used to get full marks mostly. Boys usually.dont sit and study. I told my son to do CA and those days CA was not so easy. He did 3rd year articleship in my company and made friends with.senior officers with whom.he is still in contact. He learnt ERP in our company which helped him
Today he is Director of aCompany doing well.
My daughters did graduation, worked and got married at the age of 25 yrs. My elder daughter was in Dubai for 15 yrs ,younger daughter is now in London since 8yrs and since three years working in a bank there.

Bringing up one child is not the same how I brought up three children . You have to deal tactfully. Getting angry with them no use. My younger son in law us also very strict with his daughter. Recently he got angry with her during her studies and told her I will change my name. When again he started taking her studies she told him papa you have to change your name now. She loves her dad very much.

I was so happy to see @laks thread and the awesome feedbacks by everyone e there. All are very smart and hats off to them

Thanks @iyerviji ma for sharing your nuggets of wisdom on this important topic with all of us here. Very helpful.

I could see a proud parent in your words. No doubt your children and grand children too must be feeling the same about you. Hope we all too will get to feel the same about our kids and experience the same feelings from them as well when it's our turn :)

You are most Welcome @iyerviji Ma.

Whenever we read a post of yours it's like the same feeling we have while talking to our own mum over the phone, the same warmth of a mother's hug. In a way it's like we connect to you heart to heart, beyond time and space so at times putting it all in words is just not possible as "that" feeling or "those" moments are beyond comprehension and even if we make an attempt to put something in words it can seem like a chore in that moment as we don't want to miss even a moment of that experience. There are times when we can just about manage a like and I don't know about others but for me personally I have also had moments where I just couldn't get that far even. It's true.

I know I am struggling a bit here but I also know you will get what I mean (beyond these words that we can see) and you will excuse your DD's when we miss to capture our feelings after reading your posts. Keep posting :)

    Dear Lalita
Your feedback again made me feel emotional and speechless. It's very difficult for some to treat others as mother and I am blessed to have so many loving children in IL including you, though you have joined recently. my Their love gives me inspiration to live when I am down.

Thanks for the awesome and touching feedback

    Vijima,

Please don't call me a great writer; it makes me uncomfortable and conscious. I am a writer with a 'L' board. Each day I learn something new from all of you here and I have still a long way to go.
