    Finally i have decided not to take the tamarind with me. its available in the Indian store near our place in USA.

    But i am planning to take all powders like chilli , turmeric and coriander etc .etc, Hope there will not be any problem:bowdown

    You can take chilli, sambhar, rasam, garam masala (all kind of powders)..

    No problem at all..make sure you pack well as you may have clothes as well in the baggage...

    I landed in Wisconsin last week i got tamarind packed in ziplock covers coverd with cloths... Checking officer in Chicago askd me whether any of my baggage has curry leaves in it.....
