NRI's in USA watch some really informative, and helpful TV shows.. The View is one of them. The View gives the points of view of some wealthy women commentators in the American celebrity scene. One program (click link above to see details) gives this synopsis:
Sunny Hostin is mourning the loss of her in-laws, who both died from COVID-19 over the holidays.

During Friday's episode of The View, Hostin, 52, revealed that her husband's mother and father both passed away within three days of each other due to the novel coronavirus.

I don't know if there are Indian TV shows that have hosts telling their viewing audience similar stories..... leaving the audience to draw their own morals/conclusions/hints from the narrative. With such a lot of Saas-Bahu dramas on screen, why isn't there some episode where the Bahu plots to get Covid-19 into her home ?

Let's say that there is the standard Saas-Bahu drama family: Husband (the main paav-baji winner of the family), Housewife, two school-age kids being raised on Bourne-vita, and one set of in-laws (Husband's parents). Husband working from home because of Covid, and Kids are home doing online school-work. In the 2BHK flat , there isn't much room for the housewife to go and relax. Mother-in-law is always busy making fried snacks for her husband, who is sitting in front of TV, equipped with some internet access thing, watching old cricket matches with Gary Sobers and Don Broadman. MIL is complaining (on mobile to her friends) how the DIL is lazy, not going to office, and not doing any housework, not even snacks for the family who are all home bound due to covid. DIL sits in the balcony, next to some flower pots, and silently screams every few minutes, wishes the in-laws would just go away and never come back. She is still trying to minimize visitors to enter the flat so as to keep the family members safe from catching Covid. The PIL's think that the DIL is making a stupid fuss about Covid only to prevent them from having visitors they like, and having a good time.
    ---------------------------------------
What if the DIL invites Covid into the home (after she watches a TV program where some celebrity claims to have killed both her inlaws in 3 days) with the notion that:
    • her kids are safe, because all the TV programs told her that kids are safe from the serious symptoms even if they catch Covid, and recover easily
    • women who have had the child-bearing experience are also safer than men of the same age. But older women are more at risk than younger ones.
    • older men with co-morbidities (such as obesity due to addiction to fried snacks) are more prone to serious sickness and death than younger ones
Unfortunately, there is absolutely no HOW-TO guide to infect select members of the family, or your whole family with Covid-19. Only a whole lot of unorganized cacophony on TV, and the internet to tell people how to stop Covid from infecting.

Where are the lemonade makers ? When life hands you lemons, they make lemonade, don't they ? Isn't Covid-19 squeezable ? Juicy?

:hello:That is quite hilarious and super idea to finish off few undesirable “Ills”. If ills themselves in favour of socialising let them be .

Others can rejoice with minimum safeguards like distancing, masking and hand wash.

    I enjoyed the humour.

I remember to have read somewhat similar idea in one of her horror stories by Agatha Christie. it has something to do with the unwanted husband’s habit of licking postal stamps on a envelopes being addressed to editor of News papers daily. The spouse secretly applies slow poison at the back of perforated sheet of stamps that her husband would use.

While reading your style and tenor of responses, invariably you remind me of my dear fellow member @Amulet.

    Thanks and Regards.
